Now in view of the increasing controversy regarding the film, the Mumbai Police has tightened security outside the residence and office of co-producer Ashok Pandit. News agency ANI reported that several policemen have been deployed outside his Mumbai residence and office on Friday.

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s controversial film, 72 Hoorain, is based on two dead terrorists – who roam the earth as two lost souls waiting for 72 Hoorain to come and take them to heaven. The makers establish what hell really looks like for suicide bombers and terrorists. The film stars Aamir Bashir as Bilal and Pawan Malhotra as Hakim. The film begins with a cleric giving a speech to jihad followers and giving them a wrong idea of how terrorists go straight to heaven if they sacrifice themselves in their mission. Even though the performances of both the characters were good, the story was weak and the portrayal was laughable.

Ashok Pandit called terrorism a disease
Ashok Pandit said, “It is said that terrorism is cancer for the whole world, mankind and humanity. So Sanjay along with his team of creative people has exposed the effect of terrorism how youth are misled and lied that if you do a blast, kill people, spread anarchy or genocide, you will be punished. Jannat and Hoorain (angels) will meet. When we are saying that we are making a film against terrorism, we are fighting against terrorism, then how did religion come in between?”

Special screening of ’72 Hoorain’ was held in JNU
Filmmaker Ashok Pandit spoke about the special screening of the film ’72 Hooren’ at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Ashok Pandit shared that they are planning to show the film in various educational institutions as it is the need of the hour. He said, ‘We all have to fight terrorism together.’
