The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is to be held in India in October-November.Today (June 27) the schedule of the upcoming World Cup was announced.The World Cup will begin on October 5 and the final will be played on November 19.48 matches of the World Cup will be played in 12 cities – Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Lucknow, Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Dharamshala.India-Pakistan will clash on October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Let us tell you that the first semi-final will be played in Mumbai while the second semi-final will be played in Kolkata. The final will be held in Ahmedabad. There will be main matches in 10 stadiums and practice matches in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram. There is also a practice match in Hyderabad, but there will be three main matches as well.
A total of 10 teams will participate in the tournament.Eight teams have got direct entry in the tournament while two teams will be decided after the ongoing World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.The World Cup schedule was supposed to be announced after the World Test Championship (WTC) final but got delayed due to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).Actually, the PCB had demanded to change some places for the matches of the Pakistan team, due to which there was confusion for many days.It is being told that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not accept the demand for change in PCB’s venue.Let us tell you that for the first time in the history of cricket, the entire ODI World Cup will be played in India.
