Nikhil’s ‘Kartikeya 2’ reached the audience on a pan-India scale. The journey of his next films is continuing according to that image. As a part of that, a story of that level was selected and ‘Spy’ (SPY Movie Review) was made. Touching the secret behind the disappearance of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the film is based on a spy story. Let’s see what the story is like before we know how this film is released at pan India level..
Story: Jaivardhan (Nikhil) is a Raw agent. He works in Sri Lanka. Terrorist Qadir Khan, who was trying to attack India, is believed to be dead. But the loss from him continues. Jai enters the scene with a special mission for Qadir, who is thought to be dead. Did you find Qadeer? Or did he die as everyone expected? How does Jai find the killers of his brother Subhash (Aryan Rajesh) in this effort? The rest of the story is what this mission has to do with the secret behind the disappearance of Azad Hind Fauz Dalpati Netaji.
How about:‘Spy’ (SPY Movie Review) has been promoted as a film made with a very secret story. The Netaji aspect also increased interest in the film. But the movie could not reach that level at any stage. Such spy stories, which are connected with international level and patriotism, have to have strong narrative, thrilling elements and strong emotions. Without them, the story will be in vain, no matter how many countries it covers. This movie proves that point once again. A terrorist who has become a threat to the country, a mission to defeat him, and the hero in it… The first half of the scenes go on with a formula like seen in many movies, but do not arouse special interest at any stage. If you are hoping for some magic in the second half, you will be disappointed. Some scenes surrounding Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s file, His fighting spirit could not arouse the interest of the movie anywhere except the background. In the second half, there is a new representative, a war atmosphere between two countries, lots of fighting scenes. There are flaws in the writing and direction. The secret behind the death of the protagonist’s brother, Netaji’s file…Though there are many sides in the story, the director has failed to manage them effectively and share the thrill with the audience. The film seems like a simple effort. Who did it: This movie does not show Nikhil as anything new. There is no noticeable change in his dress and gestures. He worked hard for the fight scenes. Abhinav Gotam gives laughs here and there with his dialogues. The heroines Aishwarya Menon and Sania impressed with their beauty and acting. Even though Aryan Rajesh, Tanikella Bharani, Posani Krishna Murali, Sachin Khedekar and other actors appear in the film, those characters do not show any kind of impact. Makarand Deshpande’s acting as a raw officer does not look natural. Nitin Mehta and Jishshusen Gupta will be seen in lead roles. There is no strength in those characters. Rana shines in a guest appearance. Camera and music have shown influence in technical departments. Gary’s work as a director is limited, but as an editor, this film has been mixed with firm measurements. The writing is poor.
+ Scenes in the background of Netaji
+ Some action scenes
– An uninteresting story
– Distracted emotions
- Finally: ‘Spy’ (SPY Movie Review) that doesn’t meet expectations
